The Gardnerian Pentacle

Gardnerian PentacleA Pentacle is the altarpiece used in the Craft to represent the element Earth. The upright pentagram depicts the elements earth, water, fire and spirit in union. The upright triangle, the downward-pointing triangle, and the descending pentagram form the symbols of the three degrees of Gardnerian Witchcraft.  Bottom left is the Horned God symbol, while bottom right is the symbol of the Moon Goddess. The S with the line is severity and the scourge, the plain S, mercy and the kiss.
